New Delhi, Jun 29: Ravindra Jadeja, Indian Premier League's million dollar boy might find it difficult to save his place in the national team due to his poor form in the last few tournaments and might have to be in the sidelines while India plays a five match ODI series against Sri Lanka in July.
According to the sources, Indian team for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka will be picked on July 4, and it seems like the million dollar baby, Jadeja who played for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 5, has not fared well in the last couple of tournaments, and might find it difficult to save his place in the team.
Since the allrounder having played 10 matches this year, has collected only 105 runs at an average of 17.50, with a highest score of 24.
Sources close to the Board say that skipper MS Dhoni who has played with the allrounder for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 5, might support Jadeja's inlcusion as the Indian cricket team lacks a quality allrounder.
But, the selectors might prefer Rohit Sharma or Suresh Raina as they can be used as part-time spinners who have shown a lot of maturity over the last few seasons.
Interestingly, the turbanator Harbhajan Singh who was dropped a year ago due to poor form, might get a recall while Rahul Sharma also awaits a call from the BCCI, as they are going to battle it out for the third spinner's slot, as R Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha are the regular spinners.
With Virender Sehwag's return would boost the batting line-up. Apart from the regulars, Ajinkya Rahane might get the nod following his impressive performance in IPL 5, while Ashok Dinda might also be a part of the squad as he has been consistent.
When the selection committee meets on July 4, it remains to be seen if they bank on Ravindra Jadeja who is currently struggling to score runs and the selectors want to give the turbanator another chance, who has not played an ODI since June 11 2011, might make a comeback if picked.
