Karachi, Jul 6: Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday announced the schedule for the three match ODI series and three T20 internationals between Pakistan and Australia to be played at UAE in the month of August.
Pakistan heaved a sigh of relief after finding a new home, UAE to host matches, as Sri Lanka had refused to host the ODI and T20 series featuring Pakistan and Australia as it would clash with the Sri Lanka Premier League which is slated to begin from August 10.
Similarly PCB also thought about Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur as venues for the upcoming tour before finalising UAE as the venue.
Due to excess of heat, the matches have been scheduled to start late in the evening at 6pm.
"The matches will be held in the UAE from 28 August until 10 September. The series will comprise three one-day internationals and three Twenty20 internationals," the PCB said in a statement.
Pakistan and Australia are scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20 Internationals at Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Pakistan's efforts in convincing the international teams to tour their nation seems to be in vain as none of the teams have shown interest in a bilateral series to be played at Pakistan, following the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in 2009. Australia hasn't toured the country since 1998.
Ever since, Pakistan are forced to host their matches at a neutral venue and are quite happy to have found a new cricket home in UAE.
