My comments on Dhoni

Bangalore, Jul 7: Virender Sehwag has clarified his statements on Indian captain MS Dhoni and has blamed the media for having "twisted" his comments to make it "newsworthy."

On Friday, media reports emerged where Sehwag was quoted as saying that the World Cup was won because of good team but not captaincy alone.

"We did well because we had a good team. World Cup win not due to captain alone, it was a team effort," Sehwag had said on Friday.

After reading reports in the media, Sehwag took to twitter to rubbish the reports that he was taking a dig at his captain.

"Unfortunate when a comment is twisted to make it newsworthy. Gist of what I said: we had a great team and thus we have won 2 WCups under MSD," Sehwag (@virendersehwag) wrote on the micro-blogging site.

He added: "MSD is a good captain and one of the most successful captains we have had. To imply anything else from my statement was irresponsible."

Sehwag was clearly not impressed with the way his comments were "twisted". However, there were earlier reports too during the Australia tour where Sehwag and Dhoni did not agree on selection issues.
