Bangalore, Jul 10: Former cricketers and fans took to twitter to wish Sunil Gavaskar on his 63rd birthday on Tuesday.
Gavaskar's career in numbers
Gavaskar, the former India captain and one of the greatest openers of all time, turned 63 on Tuesday. Birthday wishes poured in to the original Little Master on the micro blogging site.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) described Gavaskar as the "Rock of Gibraltar."
"BCCI wishes the legend, India's Rock of Gibraltar, Sunil Gavaskar a very happy 63rd birthday!," BCCI (@BCCI) wished.
Former India opener Aakash Chopra, while wishing Gavaskar on his birthday, said he "inspired" him to become an opener.
"Today the man who inspired me to open the batting celebrates his 63rd birthday. Here's wishing Sunil Gavaskar a very happy b'day :)," wrote Chopra (@cricketaakash).
Former Pakistan cricketer and now a TV commentator, Ramiz Raja also wished Gavaskar on twitter.

Gavaskar was born on July 10, 1949 in Bombay (now Mumbai). He was the first man to reach 10,000 Test runs. He made his Test debut in 1971 and retired in 1987 after playing 125 Tests, scoring 10,122 runs.
The Little Master is now a Television commentator and columnist.
