"Yes, it's accurate that I've been approached by the Bangladesh Cricket Board for the role of spin bowling coach," Saqlain was quoted as saying by PakPassion.net on Tuesday.
"Bangladesh cricket has a lot of potential and hopefully if appointed I would love to work with Bangladeshi cricketers at all age groups. It will also be great to work with former Pakistan head coach Richard Pybus. I have a lot of respect for Richard who is an excellent coach," he added.
"I'm honoured that they have approached me; it would be a good opportunity and great challenge for me. I have not signed a deal yet to become the Bangladesh spin bowling coach but my agent is in discussions with the BCB."
The 35-year-old played 49 Tests for Pakistan, taking 208 wickets. He also played 169 ODIs and finished with 288 scalps.
