Nagpur, Jul 12: As India's pace sensation, Umesh Yadav gears up for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka later this month, The consistent performer has said he is ready to fire again in the ODIs and lone T20 which is scheduled to begin from July 21.

The 24 year old pacer, who has the ability to bowl consistently at 140 kph, bowls effective bouncers, also moves the ball both ways which indeed helped him to claim 20 wickets in his debut season (2008-09).

When quizzed about his ability to bowl consistently at 140kph, Yadav said, he used to bowl fast while playing with a tennis ball. He also added that his focus is on bowling consistently than increasing the pace.

"I bowl quick because of my skills in tennis ball cricket. I used to bowl quick with tennis bowl. I have never aimed bowling at 160 odd... I just aim to bowl well and be consistent," Yadav told Headlines Today.

Yadav, unlike other aspiring cricketers, thought about a career in Cricket when he was 19, which is actually the age when aspiring cricketers would be in the hunt for India cap.

After his impressive stint in IPL 2010, he amazeed the audience while he played for Delhi Daredevils. Praveen Kumar's injury coupled with good domestic season helped him cement a place in the national side.

Talking about his experience playing with Virender Sehwag who was the captain of the IPL team Delhi Daredevils, Yadav said Sehwag never pressurized him.

"Viru Bhai is a very open minded player. He has never pressurized me. He gives you the ball and gives complete support as a captain."

Similar to Sehwag, Dhoni also inspires and guides youngsters as Yadav also pointed out that Dhoni never pressurizes his bowlers.

"Dhoni is a very cool captain. He also never pressurizes bowlers. If I am not able to keep a check on my bowling, then he guides me."

Talking about his Test debut, Yadav said, "V.V.S. Laxman gave me my Test cap and wished me the best for future."

Yadav also spoke about the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who has been continuously offering tips and supporting youngsters.

"Sachin Paaji always gives a lot of support. He even stands at mid on or mid off and keeps motivating me," Yadav said.

Umesh Yadav, who has played only 6 Tests, 15 ODIs and 37 T20s, has been remarkable as he has got 23, 16 and 31 wickets respectively.

With a very good record at home, Umesh Yadav also impressed everyone during India's diastrous tour of Australia. Less than ten days to go for the ODI series against Lanka, Yadav is surely one of the players who will be watched carefully by everyone.
