Bangalore, Jul 13: India paceman R Vinay Kumar has been ruled out of the Sri Lanka tour this month and will be replaced in the squad by Irfan Pathan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Friday.

Vinay, who was originally named in the 15-man squad for the five One Day Internationals and lone Twenty20 starting from July 21, sustained a hamstring injury on Thursday, July 12 and is now ruled out for three weeks.
"R. Vinay Kumar suffered a Grade I right hamstring injury while training on 12th July, 2012. He will hence not be available for the forthcoming tour of Sri Lanka. He is expected to regain match-fitness in three weeks," BCCI said in a statement.
"The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Irfan Pathan as his replacement in the Indian squad," the statement added.
With Irfan's inclusion in the squad, India will have one all-rounder. There was no all-rounder in the initial squad after Ravindra Jadeja and Yusuf Pathan were axed from the team.
