Karachi, Jul 19: Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has lauded the efforts of the two cricket boards for reviving cricket ties and said that the series between India and Pakistan is bigger than Ashes.
"The series between Pakistan and India is more popular than the Ashes series between Australia and England," Afridi was quoted as saying by The News.
While Pakistan skipper Misbah ul Haq also said that cricket fans in both the countries are eager to watch bilateral series between India and Pakistan.
"It will be a great a spectacle for the cricket fans when the two sides face each other," Misbah said.
Echoing Misbah's views, Afridi also said that people widely follow the matches played between India and Pakistan.
"The matches between Pakistan and India are widely followed and people throughout the world are greatly interested in their matches," said Afridi.
"The pressure is great when we play against India but it is also more thrilling," Afridi said.
With the hype surrounding the bilateral series also increasing every day, Afridi's comments though seems exaggerated, could be the most awaited tours of the tour.
