Antigua, Jul 23: The Jamaican storm, Chris Gayle returned to the Test squad after a hiatus, as he was named in the 13-member squad for the first Test against New Zealand which starts on Wednesday.
Chris Gayle, who played his last Test against Sri Lanka in December 2010 had been ignored by the West Indies Cricket Board for 18 months following misunderstandings between the cricketer and the board after the World Cup 2011.
Shivnarine Chanderpaul is also back in the Test squad after missing the final Test against England due to a side strain. While Darren Bravo has been omitted from the 13-man squad as he wasn't completely fit. Bravo sustained an injury during the England tour and had not recovered completely.
The first Test against New Zealand will be played in Antigua from Wednesday.
