London, Aug 2: England cricketer Kevin Pietersen has expressed his desire to play the Australian domestic T20 tournament, Big Bash League alongwith his international schedule as he is playing only Test cricket for his nation following his retirement from limited overs recently.
According to Sydney Morning Herald, sources close to Pietersen have told the Australian Big Bash League teams that the right-handed batsman will be available for the domestic tournament after Christmas.
It is also learnt that he is interested in playing for Sydney or Melbourne in BBL.
Sydney Thunder team which has signed the explosive Chris Gayle (West Indies) and Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who are available for the first half of the tournament, could accomodate Pietersen, who has also been linked with the team.
Having been ignored by the England and Wales Cricket, who did not entertain the decision to recall the cricketer as they omitted him from the probables list for the ICC World T20 which is scheduled to be played in Sri Lanka next month.
