Injured Sehwag returns home, is at NCA

Bangalore, Aug 6: India players Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan returned home from Sri Lanka on Sunday night and are back at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) here.

Sehwag, who missed the fifth and final One Day International against Sri Lanka in Pallekele on Saturday due to hip injury will be assessed by NCA physios.

India won the ODI series 4-1.

The India opener is racing against time to be fit for the New Zealand Test series which starts on August 23 in Hyderabad.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors will announce the Indian Test squad on August 10. With only three days left, it one has to wait and watch whether Sehwag will be picked.

India will face Sri Lanka in the one off Twenty20 International on Tuesday.

Zaheer Khan will be preparing for the upcoming Test series at NCA. After the completion of Tuesday's game, other Indian players are also expected to assemble at NCA.
