VVS Laxman hits ton for Hyderabad

Mysore, Aug 8: India Test batsman VVS Laxman hit an unbeaten century for Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) as he began preparations for the new season here at the SJCE ground on Tuesday.

Laxman, who had not played competitive cricket for several months, showed his class in the Safi Darashah Trophy tournament as he scored an unbeaten 102 off 154 balls with 15 boundaries.

The right-hander is preparing for the two-match Test series between India and New Zealand which starts in Hyderabad on August 23.

As a result of Laxman's fine century HCA posted 253/4 in 78 overs in reply to KSCA President's XI's 278/9 in 90 overs.

Laxman's form is good news for the Indian team with Rahul Dravid retired from international cricket.
