Mumbai, Aug 10: Chairman of the selectors, Krishnamachari Srikkanth on Friday said that Yuvraj Singh's presence will boost the team's chances in ICC World Twenty20 which is slated to begin next month in Sri Lanka.
After a few hours of discussion, the chairman of selectors announced the team and spoke to the media persons about the team selection and Yuvraj Singh's return to the national side.
"It took us a long time to decide. We discussed what kind of preparations we need to make for the World T20," said Srikkanth.
Talking about Yuvraj Singh, he said the stylish left-hander was indeed a match winner, and his presence in the team would definitely boost the team's chances to win the T20 World Cup.
"He is a match winner. He was the man of the series in the 2007 T20 WC and in the 2011 World Cup.
"Yuvraj Singh is a crucial factor. We are very happy Yuvraj is back. We appreciate the kind of effort he has put," said Srikkanth after announcing the squads for the upcoming Test series and World T20 in September on Friday.
With many changes in the team, Harbhajan Singh and Laxmipathy Balaji, Piyush Chawla picked for ICC World T20, Srikkanth maintained that it was the best squad, and a well-balanced squad for the T20 WC.
"I am sure this combination we have a great chance to win the World T20. We are keen to win the World T20 2012," he added.
Further he concluded the interaction saying it would be his last international team selection.
"This might be the last international squad that I have picked for the India," Srikkanth concluded
