New Delhi, Aug 13: India's opener Gautam Gambhir lauded Yuvraj Singh who returned to the national side after recovering from a rare germ cell cancer, for the upcoming T20 Internationals against New Zealand and for the T20 WorldCup which is slated to begin next month.
Yuvraj after recovering from a rare germ cell cancer, has made it to the national team for the T20 World Cup, and Gautam Gambhir who spoke to the reporters in New Delhi, lauded the cricketer and wished him all the best.
"We have had a good series recently. Yuvraj has made a comeback and I would say all the best to him," said Gambhir.
Having undergone a horrid phase earlier this year, Yuvraj's return to the national side has been quite inspiring, and Gambhir also felt that after recovering from cancer, he hopes the cricketer would be really strong and perform well.
"He has fought his disease and has made a comeback. Hopefully he is going to be really strong and will perform really well for India, the same way he performed in the World Cup last year," said Gambhir.
"I want to wish him all the best. It is an important tournament, and Yuvraj is an important player.
Gambhir also added that Yuvraj has been a consistent performer and hopes he continues to do well after recovering from cancer as well.
"He has done well whenever he has represented the team and hopefully he would do well in future too," he added.
