London, Aug 14: England and Wales Cricket Board has urged Kevin Pietersen to apologize to his team mates failing which would cost him his place in the third Test against South Africa by Saturday.
Pietersen having sent a few text messages to Dale Steyn and AB de Villiers made matters worse for himself as he was already finding it difficult to cope with the issues surrounding his retirement from limited overs.
Following the recent incident, things are becoming worse for the cricketer and looks like Kevin Pietersen's comeback seems to be bleak, if he doesn't apologize.
The only route back for Kevin is reconciliation,' said an ECB source. ‘He has to put his hands up and say, "Sorry guys, I sent the texts, but it was in the heat of the moment".
It is learnt that Pietersen was talking ill about Andrew Strauss and also criticised the atmosphere in the dressing room, which made England and Wales Cricket Board to act strictly.
With many issues cropping up, Kevin Pietersen's apology might help him get a berth in the final squad for the T20 World Cup.
