Bangalore, Aug 18: The affable Hyderabadi, VVS Laxman has decided to bid adieu to international cricket after 16 years.
The 37-year-old is often remembered in Indian cricket for his famous 281 against Australia at Kolkata'a Eden Gardens in 2001. It is rated in the top five Indian individual knocks in Test history. For some, that epic is number one.
In all (till August 18), Laxman hit 17 Test hundreds. Six of them came against his favourite opposition, Australia. Four were constructed against West Indies. Two each (Vs Sri Lanka and New Zealand), One apiece (Vs South Africa, Pakistan and Zimbabwe).
The right-hander's top score in Tests is 281. In 134 Tests so far, he has 8,781 runs.
