India batting brings fans to stadium

Bangalore, Sept 1: The second Test between India and New Zealand here, got a better response from the fans on the second day, Saturday largely due to India's batting.

It was a poor turnout on the opening day, Saturday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, a lot of fans queued outside stadium to buy tickets before the start of play at 9 AM local time.

The host association, Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) is expecting a much better crowd during the weekend.

With India batting on the day, it is more likely to bring the spectators to the venue.

Though conditions were overcast to start with and there are chances of rain later in the day.

In the first Test at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium from August 23, crowds stayed away from the Test match.

The retirement of VVS Laxman also played a part in Hyderabad crowd showing no interest in the game.

India won that Test inside four days, by an innings and 115 runs.
