Rain threat for T20 in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam, Sep 6: Rain threat loomed large of the first Twenty20 International between India and New Zealand here on Saturday.

Heavy overnight rains forced both India and New Zealand players to cancel their practice sessions at ACA-VCA Stadium on Thurday. Both team's players were confined to their hotel rooms.

New Zealand were to practice in the morning while Indian players were expected to hit the 'nets' from 2.00 pm. Already ticket sales have been a big hit.

After the second Test win in Bangalore on Monday, Indian T20 players and New Zelanders landed in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.

Yuvraj Singh, who will play his first match in several months tweeted that he was waiting to get onto the field and hoped rain stays away.

Yuvraj (@YUVSTRONG12) tweeted on Thursday: "Just landed in lovely vizag!! Beautiful scenic view before landing! Hope it doesn't rain tom and day after!! Cause I just can't wait anymore."

Harbhajan Singh is also in the squad. He has also made a return to national team after more than a year.

There are two T20Is in the series and the final game will be played in Chennai on Monday.
