Dubai, Sep 7: India's latest sensation Ravichandran Ashwin, having claimed his career-best ranking in Tests, has now moved to the 4th position in ICC ODI rankings, while Pakistan's Saeed Ajmal heads the list of ODI rankings.
Interestingly, Ashwin is the only Indian cricketer to feature in the top 20 as only two players have made it to the top 20 in batsmen as well.
While the team rankings also remained unchanged as India retained their No 3 spot while England reclaimed their numero uno position after their ODI win against South Africa who claimed the second place.
With 121 points, England and South Africa took the first and second position, while India remained third with 120 points. South Africa trail by a mere 0.09 ratings point as they had to be content with the second position.
This further suggests that England will be No 1 till January 2013, when they tour India for the five match ODI series.
Following award row, Saeed Ajmal topped the ICC bowler rankings. Ajmal who was not nominated for the ICC awards, finished with 10 wickets in the series against Australia at an economy rate of 3.41 with an average of 9.9 in the series.
While Hashim Amla continues to rule the Rankings table with 901 points, his career-best rating, and the eighth best in the history of the game.
With 335 runs against England in the ODI series that concluded recently, Hashim Amla consolidated his No 1 position while Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are placed second and third.
