World T20 Records (India): Yuvraj, King of Sixes!

Despite his current form, Gautam Gambhir continues to lead the table for the most runs in World T20 by an Indian while Yuvraj continues to rule, as he is the 'King of Sixes'. WIth a few days to go for World T20 to begin in Sri Lanka, here are a few stats that give an India about how Indians have performed so far in the last three editions of ICC World T20 since 2007.

WT20 Records: Yuvraj, King of Sixes!

* India's highest total in ICC World T20 has been 218/4 against England at Durban in September 2007

* Despite his current form, Gautam Gambhir leads the table for most runs in World T20, with 444 runs off 16 matches at an average of 29.60

* Gautam Gambhir has scored 51 boundaries, highest by an Indian in the T20 World Cup

* Yuvraj Singh holds the record for the maximum sixes by an Indian with 24 huge hits off 16 matches since 2007

* Gautam Gambhir has scored the four fifties in T20 WC, most by an Indian

* Suresh Raina is the only Indian to have scored a hundred in a T20 World Cup with a total of 239 runs and a highest score of 101

* Harbhajan Singh and MS Dhoni have played the most T20 matches (17) in a World Cup

* RP Singh (14) has claimed the maximum wickets for India in the World Cup

* No Indian has claimed a five wicket haul in the T20 World Cup, while RP Singh, Zaheer Khan and Pragyan Ojha have claimed four-wicket hauls

* Harbhajan Singh (12) and Irfan Pathan (11) are placed second and third in the list of maximum wickets claimed by an Indian

* Harbhajan Singh and Sreesanth have recorded two maiden overs in T20 World Cup so far, while Irfan Pathan and Ravindra Jadeja have recorded one maiden over each

* Pragyan Ojha has recorded the best strike rate with 9.4, as he has claimed 7 wickets off 3 matches, with 4/21 being his best bowling figures

* Ashish Nehra has recorded maximum ducks by an Indian (2) in T20 World Cup

* Yuvraj Singh has hit 7 sixes in an innings against England, the maximum in an innings at T20 World Cup

* Yusuf Pathan, Yuvraj Singh adn Harbhajan Singh together hold the record for maximum catches (6) for India in T20 WC

* MS Dhoni holds the record for maximum dismissals by an Indian wicket-keeper as he has 12 dismissals to his credit

* Harbhajan Singh, Sreesanth, Yuvraj, Yusuf Pathan, Ravindra Jadeja, Piyush Chawla, Rohit Sharma all have recorded two catches in an innings in T20 WC

* Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir hold the record for India for the highest partnership, as they have recorded 136 runs for the first wicket against England at Durban in Sep 2007

* Sehwag-Gambhir's partnership is the only 100-plus partnership that India has recorded so far in T20 World Cup since 2007

* Gautam Gambhir holds the record for the most runs in a series, as he has recorded 227 runs off 7 matches in the inaugural edition of World T20 at South Africa in Sep 2007

* Surprisingly, Rohit Sharma who is undergoing a rough patch this year, and was not picked for World T20 2012, leads the table for the highest average by an Indian in WC with 60.60 having scored 303 runs off 12 matches, which includes a highest score of 79 (not out)

* A match between India and Pakistan in the inaugural edition of T20 World Cup in Durban, South Africa has been the only match that was tied

* India have recorded 19 extras, the highest conceded by the team in T20 WC against West Indies in the previous edition of World T20 at the Carribean in 2010
