Colombo, Sep 14: India's R Ashwin, who also spoke to the reporters today after the training session at Colombo ahead of World T20, felt that veteran Harbhajan Singh's experience would benefit the team as they will have more options in the playing XI.
Harbhajan Singh, who is returning to the national team after almost a year, would add a lot of variety to the attack as the team is in need of experience.
Ashwin, who interacted with sportspersons after the training session, said the team had various options during the 2011 World Cup as well.
"I think it is very good to have a lot of options in the playing eleven. Even in the 2011 World Cup, it was the same, we hade very good options in the side to bank upon and bring on our resources at the vital end of the tournament," said Ashwin.
Analysing the team's resources, Ashwin said it is always good to have more options in the team and Harbhajan's inclusion makes the team more balanced as his experience is invaluable.
"You never know we might come with a West Indies or probably any other good side in the super sixes or in the semi finals stages of the tournament and we might require his resources," he said.
"It is always good to have his resources and someone with so much experience always comes in with a big plus. For me he has been a great hero all through my career, so to have him in the same side and actually draw from the experience. He was a part of the 2007 world cup, he was a key factor in the team. So, we have the resources to bank upon and the experience there," he added.
