Colombo, Sep 24: Team India skipper MS Dhoni admitted that with the return of Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawla, the team will be facing more problems but said that the team management would look forward to play the best XI in Super Eights.
Having thrashed England by 90 runs on Sunday, Dhoni said the team performed very well as it was an all-round performance, which helped them finish at the top of the Group, after defeating England and Afghanistan in the group matches.
With Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawla claiming 4/12 and 2/13 respectively, India bowled England out for 80 within 15 overs as they won the match by 90 runs.
Talking about the team's performance, Dhoni suggested that India would have more problems to deal with from now onwards, as they have more options to choose from.
"Now we have got a problem of plenty with both the spinners (Harbhajan and Chawla) doing well today. Yes, we have got difficult decisions to make. Not to forget that the players who missed out today have won a lot of games for India on their own," said Dhoni.
"It will be difficult decision but we will pick the best eleven," he added.
Dhoni further added that since there were more wickets in hand, India afforded to go for big shots after 15 overs, and summed it up as an efficient performance.
"It was an efficient performance. People might say we were slow for the first 15 over (while batting), but we were not over-aiming. We had five bowlers, we knew that," he said.
More than batsmen, bowlers were fabulous on Sunday, especially Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawla as they returned with a bang claiming 6 wickets between them.
"Then the bowlers produced a fantastic performance," he said.
Talking about the team changes, Dhoni said the decision to leave out seniors was a difficult one and admitted that since it was the last group match, they had to try out other possible options.
"It was a difficult decision, but we requested the seniors to rest so that we could try out some combinations. All of them cooperated and told me to go ahead," he said.
"We rested R Ashwin also, our best spinner for some time so that we can try Harbhajan and Piyush. They did really well today," he added.
About Irfan Pathan opening the innings, Dhoni said the all-rounder was ever-ready to changes, as he responds well.
"He (Irfan) is a gutsy player. He may not look pretty, but he responds to the call," said Dhoni.
Dhoni also lauded Rohit Sharma for his fine innings, that helped the team post 170/4 at the end of 20 overs.
"About Rohit, he is talented player. It is important if guys are responding to give them a few extra games."
