Colombo, Sep 28: Australia handed India a humiliating nine-wicket defeat in the Super Eights of the ICC World Twenty20 2012 here on Friday night at the R Premadasa Stadium. It was Shane Watson and David Warner show as Australia won with 31 balls to spare.

Here are the highlights of this game

# Australia chased down the target of 141 in 14.5 overs with the loss of one wicket

# India are yet to win a Super Eights game since 2007 World T20

# This loss has pushed India to the bottom of Group 2 in Super Eight. Australia are on top followed by Pakistan and South Africa

# India's net run rate has taken a huge beating with -2.506. Australia's is +2.506

# Watson won his third successive Man-of-the-match award in this World T20

# Watson took three wickets earlier when India batted

# Watson has now scored 164 runs in three innings in the tournament. He also has eight wickets

# In terms of ball, this is India's second biggest defeat in T20Is. Heaviest is 52 balls, also against Australia in Melbourne in February 2008

# Watson scored 72 off 42 balls with seven sixes and two boundaries

# Warner remained unbeaten on 63 off 41 balls with seven fours and three sixes

# Watson-Warner pair added 133 runs for the first wicket in 13.3 overs

# This is the best stand for Australia for the first wicket in T20Is. Previous highest too was by them, 111 against Pakistan recently in Dubai, September, 2012

# This partnership is also best by any team against India. Same pair had 104 in Bridgetown in 2010 World T20

# Watson and Warner are the first pair to aggregate 1,000 runs in T20Is and also the first duo to register three 100 plus stands for first wicket

# Australia scored 100/0 in 10 overs. In the first six overs of powerplay, they were 47/0

# Earlier India won the toss and batted first

# For the first time since March 2006, India played three specialist spinners in the same match

# Virender Sehwag did not play this match as India opted to play five bowlers
