Colombo, Oct 6: Chris Gayle's prophecy came true, as he had tweeted ahead of their semifinal clash against Australia saying that Sri Lanka will be playing West Indies on Sunday in the World T20 final.
After Sri Lanka's 16-run victory over Pakistan, West Indies' star batsman Chris Gayle had tweeted saying Windies will be playing Lanka in the final, which actually seemed arrogant, came true in reality as he played a vital role in guiding the team to its first World T20 final.
"So its Sri Lanka vs W.I in the final Sunday :)...Hard luck Pakistan!! Now I know who Pakistan will be supporting!. Blessed all...1 Luv!!","
The remark on twitter raised a few eyebrows, as everyone felt Gayle was arrogant, but the Jamaican's tweet came true as he shouldered the responsibility of guiding his team to the final of World T20.
While the fastest man on Earth, Usain Bolt, who won two Olympic Gold medals at London Olympics 2012, also praised Gayle and the team for reaching the final of World T20.
"Good going West Indies...Gayle u know how Jamaicans do it.." Bolt tweeted after West Indies marched into the World T20 final by defeating Australia by 74 runs on Friday.
