New Delhi, Oct 9: With less than a few hours left for the Champions League T20 to begin at Johannesburg in South Africa on Tuesday, Champions League T20 Technical Committee has approved a few changes in the Chenani Super Kings, as Nuwan Kulasekara will be replacing Dwayne Bravo in the tournament.
S Anirudha and Dwayne Bravo, who have been a part of the Chennai Super Kings squad will be replaced by Shadab Jakati and Nuwan Kulasekara after Anirudh fractured his right clavicle recently and Dwayne Bravo picked up a thigh strain which also prevented him from bowling in the tournament.
Anirudha has been advised rest for 6 weeks which ensured that he missed the Champions League T20 that is spread across Oct 9 to Oct 23.
Apart from Chennai Super Kings, Uva Next and Yorkshire have also made a few changes, as the Technical Committee also approved the changes, as Uva Next player Upul Tharanga was ruled out of the tournament following a broken finger and would be replaced by Asha Priyanjana.
Yorkshire's Jonny Bairstow was also ruled out of CLT20 following a wrist injury, will be replaced by Ed Wilson in the squad.
Since Chennai Super Kings are playing the main draw, their first match against Sydney Sixers on Oct 14 while Uva Next and Yorkshire will have to play the qualifying round from Oct 9 to 11.
Only two teams from the 6 teams will make it to the main draw after playing the qualifying round, as the actual season begins on Oct 13.
