New Delhi, Oct 9: After Team India's ouster from ICC World T20 in Sri Lanka, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)is planning to appoint different captains for the three formats of the game, according to a report on IBN 7.

3 Formats, 3 captains for Team India?

Team India, failed to reach the semifinal stage, having won four of the five games at World T20, which reflected in the team's abilities, as their weaknesses were exposed in the tournament.

Former India cricketer Maninder Singh, in an interview to cricketnext.com had criticised Dhoni and his captaincy.

Talking about MS Dhoni's leadership, he said the skipper gambles a lot and believes in his intuition which might work well at times but might backfire as well.

Dhoni's errors in captaincy have been criticised by many former cricketers as they feel its time to have a different captain.

Maninder Singh also pointed out India's disastrous tours of England and Australia, followed by many failures was a result of such negatives, which could have been avoided.

"If the negatives were taken care of then probably Indian cricket wouldn't have come at this stage. Losing 8-0 in abroad Tests, failure in the Asia Cup and failing to qualify in three World Twenty20 semi-finals is very disappointing," Maninder said.

"I think Virat Kohli should be the captain. He will get respect from other boys as he is performing in all three formats," he added.

Moreover, there are reports about Dhoni being retained as Test captain, while Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina might be appointed as the new captains for the ODIs and T20s respectively.
