Durban, Oct 16: Kolkata Knight Riders meet Perth Scorchers on Wednesday in a must-win group B clash at Durban, after losing their first two group matches to Delhi Daredevils and Auckland Aces in Champions League T20.
Gautam Gambhir's men need to prove critics wrong, as they have failed miserably in Champions League T20, after emerging victorious in the fifth edition of IPL.
Sunil Narine is KKR's trump card, as others have been leaking too many runs and the batsmen look off colour except Manvinder Bisla and Brendon McCullum.
Skipper Gautam Gambhir, also has been struggling to score runs, as Jacques Kallis, Manoj Tiwary and others have also failed to perform this season.
A batting collapse in both the matches suggest that Kolkata need to focus a lot on the basics, as Perth Scorchers are also face a similar problem and need to concentrate on getting good partnerships at the start of the innings.
Perth Scorchers depend on Simon Katich, Mitchell Marsh and Herschelle Gibbs in batting, while Nathan Rimmington is the only effective bowler for Scorchers.
Given both the teams, Kolkata and Scorchers are sailing in the same boat, as they are desperately in need of a win to stay afloat in the tournament.
