Bangalore, Oct 16: Sachin Tendulkar is all set to play for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy 2012-13 season opener against Railways next month.
Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan are to play in Mumbai's opening game at the Wankhede Stadium from November 2 to 5, Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) Joint Secretary Nitin Dalal was quoted as saying by PTI on Tuesday.
"Sachin and Zaheer are likely to play in Mumbai's Ranji Trophy opener at the Wankhede Stadium. They have expressed their interest to play in the game," Dalal said in a PTI report.
Tendulkar is currently playing for Mumbai Indians in the Champions League Twenty20 in South Africa. The 39-year-old right-hander was recently bowled in three successive innings in the Test series against New Zealand. There were calls for him to retire. This Ranji Trophy game would be a good preparation for Tendulkar and Zaheer ahead of the Test series against England which starts on November 15.
