Mumbai Indians, having lost to Highveld Lions in their first match and shared points with Yorkshire on Thursday after the match was washed-out, need to win the next two matches inorder to stay alive in the tournament.
Since Chennai Super Kings haven't opened their account yet, after two failures in CLT20 group stage, MS Dhoni's men will be looking forward to set a few things right when they take on defending champions Mumbai Indians on Saturday.
Chennai, placed fifth in Group B need to win both the matches against Mumbai and Yorkshire (Oct 22). If Highveld Lions beat Yorkshire on Saturday as both the IPL teams in Group B will be eliminated.
Given both the team's performance in CLT20, Mumbai seems to be a better team when compared to Chennai Super Kings, as their players have been consistent.
MS Dhoni's men have a tough task at hand on Saturday as they need to win the match to remain in the fray.
With Sachin, Rohit Sharma, Dwayne Smith, Rayudu, Pollard performing well, Mumbai Indians would look forward to keep the momentum high, especially after the wash-out on Thursday.
Chennai on the other hand, have to get the basics right and should get a good start as their top order has failed to create an impact in the tournament so far.
Highveld Lions Vs Yorkshire
South Africa's Highveld Lions, start favourites as they take on Yorkshire at Johannesburg on Saturday.
With two wins off three matches, Lions have already been one of the favourite teams to win the trophy this season.
While Phangiso, Dirk Nannes, Sohail Tanvir, Morris are capable of restricting the opponents to a decent total, Ghulam Bodi, Neil McKenzie, Quinton de Kock are capable of chasing any total, as they are playing at home and are aware of the conditions.
Yorkshire, looked very strong during the qualifying stage, failed to keep up the momentum as they depend on a few players and when they fail, the team loses badly.
Gary Ballance, Adil Rashid, Steven Patterson have been quite consistent for Yorkshire in this edition of CLT20, but a few more players' contribution would ensure a win to the English county side.
If Yorkshire manage to tame the Highveld Lions, then the IPL teams might have another chance to qualify for the semifinals else, might have to participate next year, as Lions' victory would put an end to Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians' CLT20 campaign.
