Durban, Oct 21: Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will be back on field on Monday for the last time in this edition of the Champions League Twenty20. Both Indian Premier League (IPL) teams will play for pride before they head home from South Africa.
Defending champions Mumbai and 2010 winners Chennai were knocked out on Saturday and will now complete league formalities. Mumbai, without a success in three outings, will be up against the unbeaten Australian outfit Sydney Sixers while Chennai tackle winless Yorkshire.
With nothing on offer for both Mumbai and Chennai will at least hope to go back on a high. However, for Sydney it will be an important game as they look to extend winning march. Even if they lose on Monday, they might still top Group B. Highveld Lions are the other team to progress to semi-finals from Group B.
On current form, Sydney will start as favourites against Mumbai. They are also one of the main contenders for the trophy now. Their fast bowlers Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood have been superb in the tournament. Left-arm paceman Starc is second in the list of wicket-takers with nine in three games. In 12 overs he has conceded 72 runs and has strike rate and average of eight each.
Chennai opened their account against Mumbai with a thrilling six-run win on Saturday. They should have it easy against Yorkshire.
