Durban, Oct 23: The final Champions League group B match between Mumbai Indians and Sydney Sixers witnessed one of the rare incidents as Mumbai's Dinesh Karthik's shot hit the spider cam on Monday.
A typical incident that had never happened on a cricket field so far was witnessed by Durban audience on Monday, as Dinesh Karthik lofted Henriques' delivery towards mid-wicket, which found the spider cam.
According to the rules, it was a dead ball. If that wasn't enough, Dinesh Karthik ran into the umpire S Ravi while taking two runs off the third ball of the same over (15th over) as the umpire had no clue what happened after Kieron Pollard mis-hit the ball which forced Karthik to be involved in two incidents off the same over.
Infact Karthik's innings was totally was marred with such incidents, as his dismissal also reminded everyone of Sachin Tendulkar's dismissal (Feb 26, SCG).
Karthik's dismissal was similar to Sachin, as he charged down and hit a slow ball while Hneriques was waiting for the throw at the non-striker's end, and was showing his back to Karthik, as the Mumbai batsman trying to avoid clashing with the bowler but had no clue how to reach the crease as McCullum's throw hit the stumps directly to dismiss Karthik for 18.
It was indeed a crazy day for Durban audience as they witnessed a couple of intersting moments on Monday evening, as MS Dhoni chose to bowl, under Raina's captaincy, and Mumbai's match witnessed a few rare incidents.
