The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday approved Pakistan's visit to the country to clear the way for the neighbours to arrive for a bilateral series for the first time since 2007.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice-President Rajiv Shukla and other members of the Indian cricket board, on Tuesday, met MHA officials.
Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad are the venues for this short tour. According to the itinerary, Pakistan are set to land in India on December 22. The first match of the tour is set for December 25. However, the final fixtures list is yet to be made by both boards.
England, who are currently in India, will return home for Christmas and arrive back for the rest of the tour. During that two-week break, India will face Pakistan.
Pakistan's last visit to India for a bilateral series was in 2007.
