Rajkot, Nov 7: India batsman Cheteshwar Pujara got engaged to Pooja Pabari on Tuesday in Rajkot. The engagement ceremony was attended by family members and Saurashtra captain Jaydev Shah, the only cricketer to be present, a report in Ahmedabad Mirror newspaper said.
"We decided to have a low-key affair at a city hotel," Pujara's father Arvind told the newspaper after the ceremony.
"The marriage will not take place in the near future as Cheteshwar has a very tight schedule for the next few months. It was an arranged marriage. But happening with the consent of both of them," his father said to the newspaper.
According to the paper, Pooja is a 22-year-old who has studied MBA and hails from Gujarat.
Pujara is preparing for England Test series which starts in Ahmedabad on November 15. He recently played for Mumbai A against England in a three-day warm-up game.
