Ahmedabad, Nov 7: England will have their final preparations ahead of first Test as they face Haryana in a four-day warm-up game here starting on Thursday.

England face Haryana in Ahmedabad

England squad arrived here on Tuesday for their final tour game. For tomorrow's game pacemen Steven Finn and Stuart Broad will be missing, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed on the eve of the match.

Both Finn and Broad are nursing injuries and are likely to be fit in time ahead of the first Test.

Ahmedabad is the venue for the first Test which starts on November 15. However, this warm-up tie will be played at the Sardar Patel Stadium's "B" ground and not at the Test ground.

England's first two practice games, against India A and Mumbai A ended in draws. Compared to those two opponents, Haryana could be easy for the visitors.

In the first round of Ranji Trophy match, Haryana were routed by Vidarbha in three days. Umesh Yadav was the wrecker-in-chief with five wickets as Haryana were bowled out for 55 in first innings.

As Haryana coach Ashwini Kumar said, it would be a great opportunity for his side to face an international team.

"The England game is a great opportunity for us. We can definitely push them. They know nothing about our players while we have videos of all their players. We can surprise them," Kumar was quoted as saying in the media.

For England, it will be their last chance to fine tune their game to combat Indian spinners Harbhajan Singh, R Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha. Lack of quality spinners in practice games has definitely been the talking point and it will be interesting to see how England batsmen handle spin in the Test series.

Opener Nick Compton made an impression in the second innings against Mumbai A. The right-hander might have sealed the spot to partner captain Alastair Cook at the top of the order. He has another chance to push his case.

Kevin Pietersen has so far been quiet and he will be looking forward to find form in the next three days.

Squads

England: Alastair Cook (captain), James Anderson, Ian Bell, Tim Bresnan, Nick Compton, Steven Finn, Samit Patel, Kevin Pietersen, Matt Prior, Graeme Swann, Jonathan Trott, Sturt Broad, Joe Root, Jimmy Bairstow, Graham Onions, Eoin Morgan, Monty Panesar.

Haryana: Nitin Saini, Rahul Dewan, Sunny Singh, Abhimanyu Khod, Priyank Tehlan, C Saini, Amit Mishra, J Yadav, KR Hooda, Amit Vashisht, Mohit Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Hooda, Chanderpal Saini.
