Rohit Sharma to lead Mumbai

Mumbai, Nov 7: Rohit Sharma has been named captain of Mumbai for their second Ranji Trophy game against Rajasthan from November 9 in Jaipur. Regular skipper Ajit Agarkar is ruled out due to a calf injury, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) announced on Wednesday.

MCA joint secretary Nitin Dalal said Agarkar was out with a "minor" calf injury. He picked up the injury in the first game against Railways.

"Agarkar will be available for the subsequent games," said Dalal.

Mumbai will also miss Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan and Ajinkya Rahane, who will be on India duty for first two Tests against England starting in Ahmedabad on November 15. All three played in the first game with Tendulkar scoring a century.

Kshemal Waingankar, Shardul Thakur, Hiken Shah and Akhil Herwadkar have been named as replacements.
