Ahmedabad, Nov 9: Samit Patel continued his good form with the bat as he struck a fine half century to guide England to 521 on the second day of their four-day warm-up game against Haryana here on Friday. England were all out for 521 in 118.2 overs.
At stumps on the second day, Haryana reached 172/4 in 61 overs. Rahul Dewan (77) and Sunny Singh (55) shared the batting honours. For England, Tim Bresnan took two wickets while Samit and Monty Panesar had one scalp each.
Patel, who scored a century against India A in their first practice match of the tour, was yet again among runs. This time, the right-hander scored 67 off 105 balls with 13 boundaries.
Matt Prior made a quick 41 off 36 balls with five fours. Overnight batsman Ian Bell was dismissed for 62.
For Haryana, captain Amit Mishra and Jayant Yadav took four wickets apiece.
England, today, resumed on 408/3. Yesterday, Kevin Pietersen had score a 84-ball 100. He retired hurt at 110.
This is the final warm-up game for England before the first Test against India on November 15.
