Sehwag's run-a-ball 117 and Cheteshwar Puajra's 98 not out helped India post 323/4 in 90 overs. Graeme Swann was the only successful bowler for visitors as he took all four wickets to have fallen on the day.
England fast bowlers bowlers toiled hard in Ahmedabad and it the pitch aiding spinners, Swann made the most of conditions to be on top.
