PCB officials to inspect Eden Gardens

Kolkata, Dec 1: Five members of the Pakistan Cricket Board are expected to inspect Eden Gardens, Kolkata which is hosting the second ODI between India and Pakistan, to be played on Jan 3, 2013.

Pakistan is touring India for the first time since 2009 terror attacks at Mumbai, as cricket ties were stalled for the last few years as India and other countries haven't toured the nation citing security reasons.

Cricket Association of Bengal Joint Secretary, Subir Ganguly also said that the 5-member team will visit Delhi first and arrive at Kolkata to inspect the venue on Sunday.

"They will do the inspection and hold a meeting with us before flying to Bangalore (that will host the first T20I of the India-Pakistan series)," Ganguly said.

Pakistan is scheduled to play 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is in India from Dec 2012 to Jan 2013.

Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Delhi are other venues that are hosting the ODIs and T20Is against Pakistan.

Eden Gardens is hosting the third ODI between India and Pakistan after a gap of 8 years as Pakistan played their last ODI at Eden in Nov 2004.

Interestingly, the first ODI played at Eden Gardens also featured India and Pakistan in Feb 1987.
