Kolkata, Dec 4: India's Harbhajan Singh is a doubtful starter for the third Test against England, as Dhoni confirmed that the turbanator has not been keeping well and would take a call on his condition later on Tuesday.
Harbhajan Singh who is recovering from flu, missed out today's net session at Eden Gardens, Kolkata but told a news agency that he is fit but decided to take a day off since he was not keeping well for the last few days.
"I am fit today but I have been down with flu for the past few days. Since I am recovering from flu, I thought it is better to take rest today," Harbhajan, who has played 99 Tests, told a news agency on Tuesday.
Dhoni also confirmed that the off-spinner was taking rest at the hotel and missed the practice session as he was down with flu.
When asked if the off-spinner would be a part of the team's playing XI, skipper Dhoni said that the team management would take a call on the same ahead of the team's third Test match against England starting on Wednesday.
"Harbhajan is down with flu and he stayed at the hotel and did not come down for the practice. We will have to go back to the hotel and check his condition. Only after assessing his condition, we will take a call," Dhoni added.
With Harbhajan Singh not performing well in the second Test at Mumbai, looks like Harbhajan's illness is Dhoni's yet another game plan to make people believe that the off-spinner who is awaiting to play his 100th Test, would not be picked due to his fitness and get away with the issue, playing his favourite spin-duo.
