Bangalore, Dec 5: As far as Sachin Tendulkar is concerned, people in India praise him to the core when he performs consistently and when he breaks one record after another. But Indians are quite emotional when he doesn't perform or when he is undergoing a bad patch, as they criticize him to the core having forgotten his records and contribution to the game.

Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly rightly pointed it out and said that people look at Tendulkar's negative sides, and criticize the master, and forget his records.

"The problem with Tendulkar is that people always look at his negative sides. Nobody talks about his centuries and the wins he has given us," Ganguly said during a promotional event at Kolkata on Tuesday.

Why blame Tendulkar for India's losses?

There are many instances when Sachin Tendulkar has won matches for India, but his performance is linked with India's losses many a times.

In ODIs, India has won 234 matches involving Sachin Tendulkar which includes 33 tons and 59 half centuries from the master blaster. But critics are curious about his match winning knocks in India's losses.

Comparing that with India's losses, Tendulkar has scored 14 hundreds and 35 half centuries and has witnessed 200 ODI losses having played for India.

Given these stats, it looks like Sachin Tendulkar has been more or less consistent while people are just talking about his negative side when he is undergoing a bad patch.

Coming back to Tests, India have witnessed 66 wins and 55 losses involving Tendulkar in the longer format, which also suggests that the master blaster has been contributing the same in India's wins and losses.

Sachin averages 64.43 in India's Test wins, including 20 tons and 22 fifties, his average in India's losses 37.10 also suggest that Team India still depends a lot on the master blaster, as he has recorded 11 tons and 17 half centuries in India's 55 Test losses so far.

Moreover, India has won 66 matches, lost 55 and has drawn 71 Tests involving Sachin Tendulkar, of which the team has lost only 11 matches when Sachin has scored a ton in the Test.

Here is the list of Sachin Tendulkar's centuries in India's 11 Test losses.

Feb 1,1992 - 114, 2 Vs Australia, Perth

Jun 1996 - 24, 122 Vs England, Birmingham

Jan 1997 - 4, 169 Vs South Africa, Durban

Mar 1998 - 177, 31 Vs Australia, Blore

Dec 1998 - 47, 133 Vs New Zealand, Wellington

Jan 1999 - 0, 136 Vs Pakistan, Chennai

Dec 1999 - 116, 52 Vs Australia, Melbourne

Nov 2001 - 155, 15 Vs South Africa, Bloemfontein

Jan 2008 - 154*, 12 Vs Australia, Sydney

Feb 2010 - 100, 8 Vs South Africa, Nagpur

Dec 2010 - 111*, 34 Vs South Africa, Centurion

Since India have only 11 Tests when Sachin Tendulkar has scored a ton, why do people attribute India's losses to the master? Its time for people to stop criticizing Sachin Tendulkar for India's losses.
