Nagpur, Dec 13: Under-fire skipper MS Dhoni refuses to blame coach Duncan Fletcher following India's repeated failure in Tests.
Team India has lost track over the last one year which has led critics to question Duncan Fletcher's role as coach of Indian cricket team especially after twin overseas defeats.
Under Dhoni's captaincy, India has won only 5 Tests off 16 since July 2011, and lost 10 matches to Enlgand (6) and Australia (4).
Despite the team's repeated failure, Dhoni backed coach Fletcher and said 'he has excellent technical knowledge.'
"You cannot question the coach. We have done well under him. He has excellent technical knowledge but once we cross the rope we are on our own," Team India skipper added.
"We should not really look into excuses and try not to play the blame game and put it on the coach. Ultimately what matters is how the 11 players perform in the middle," Dhoni said.
Dhoni being questioned for Team India's dismal show in the last one year, defended the team saying that they have performed well except Australia and England, since they were humiliated 4-0 during those tours.
"We have won quite a few series, the ODI performances have been really good. In between, we have won Test series. Okay, in Australia and England we struggled, but this is a series after that that we have not done well, the last two matches that you see," Dhoni had told reporters before the start of the fourth Test.
