Nagpur, Dec 17: Such was the nature of the pitch in Nagpur that even if it had gone on for another three or four days, the end result would have still been a draw. This was the assessment of the pitch made by India captain MS Dhoni after the fourth Test against England on Monday.
The Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium pitch failed to assist bowlers even on the fifth day as England batsmen played out the final day to ensure a draw and with that the series 2-1.
Speaking at the post-match presentation, Dhoni said there was nothing for the bowlers on this 22-yard strip.
"This Test match would have gone for a draw with maybe 3 or 4 more days to go," said Dhoni.
He added: "There was not much (in the pitch) for the fast bowlers and spinners. It was a slow wicket and difficult to score runs. It got better on the fifth and the ball was coming on to the bat."
