Bangalore, Dec 19: Following India's third consecutive series defeat in the last one year, a few players have expressed their displeasure to the BCCI regarding the coach Duncan Fletcher according to reports.
According to a report on Zeenews.india.com a few players have complained about Duncan Fletcher and his approach to the BCCI officials after Team India's humiliating 1-2 series loss against England.
Though a report on TOI suggested that officially there were no complaints lodged against the coach, it is learnt that a few players had spoken to the BCCI officials regarding the same.
Given Fletcher's record since he took over from Gary Kirsten as coach of the Indian Cricket Team, it clearly suggests that the coach has done very little to improve Team India.
India have lost 10 Tests and won only 6 in the last one and a half years. India has lost 6 Tests out of 7 played against England, also witnessing 8 outright losses to England and Australia in Tests.
If that wasn't enough, India was knocked out of two ODI tournaments earlier this year, lost to Bangladesh and moreover witnessed an early ouster from World T20 in Sep 2012.
Team India having reached No 1 spot in Tests lost track in the last two years, having slipped to the fifth spot in ICC Test rankings.
The former Zimbabwean cricketer was signed as coach for a term of two years after World Cup 2011 on the recommendation of Gary Kirsten, who helped Team India win the World Cup last year.
Though Fletcher's contract is unlikely to be renewed for another term, the former Zimbabwean cricketer might face the axe early next year.
