MS Dhoni ducks captaincy debate

Pune, Dec 20: Team India skipper MS Dhoni refuses to answer on whether he believes in split captaincy theory after the team's humiliating 1-2 loss to England.

Former Indian cricketers and critics have urged the selectors to sack Dhoni as Test captain after three consecutive series defeats in the last one year.

Ever since Mohinder Amarnath revealed that selectors wanted to sack Dhoni as Test captain during the Nagpur Test, former cricketers voiced their opinion on the same and demanded for Dhoni's removal as Test captain.

During the pre-match conference, Dhoni was questioned about split captaincy and the Jharkhand player's views on the same, while he refused to comment.

"Your question on my view about split captaincy is good but let's stick to T20 format as we have a T20 game tomorrow," Dhoni replied.

Moreover Dhoni insisted on turning the focus on the T20 game against England rather than answering captaincy queries.

"Before the start of an important series, I don't want to comment on that. Because when it comes to Indian cricket, if it's not going the right way, questions pop up about captaincy, senior players, junior players, the kind of talent we have got, the bench strength we have got. Everything will pop up and if you keep answering, I think we will be short of time," said Dhoni.
