After guiding Team India to a five-wicket victory over England on Thursday having scored 38 and claimed 3/19 in the first T20 at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune, dedicated the award to the girl and her parents.
"I came particularly to dedicate this Man-of-the-match award to the girl who got gang raped in Delhi. It's very sad to know what has happened and the whole team is very concerned," Yuvraj said at the post-match press conference.
The World Cup winning cricketer also said that the entire team was concerned about the 23-year-old.
"I do not what is the state of the girl now. I want to dedicate it to the girl and her parents. I have been reading a lot about this and this has been very disturbing. I am sure the whole of India is rooting for her recovery," Yuvraj added.
The 31-year-old's kind gesture on Thursday was similar to Manoj Tiwary, who had also dedicated his man of the match award against West Indies in 2011 to the victims who had lost their lives in a fire incident.
