Tear and joy for Sachin Tendulkar

Bangalore, Dec 25: Speaking for the first time after his One Day International retirement, Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday thanked his fans for their support over the past 23 years. He said fans' expressions brought "joy" and at times "tear" to him.

Tendulkar, who exited the ODI scene on Sunday (December 23), for the first time, took the micro blogging site Twitter to thank his fans. However, still there has been no official press conference from the 39-year-old on his retirement.

The Master Blaster, who is holidaying with his family in Mussoorie, wrote (‏@sachin_rt) "Words are not enough to express my thanks to each of you for all the love & support I have received over the years.....(sic)."

In another tweet he continued: "..& especially now in the last couple of days. Your expressions have brought joy to my heart...& at times a tear to my eye!...(sic)."

Finally he added saying those "magical moments" of his ODI career will stay with him for the rest of his life.

"... Those magical moments of our ODI journey will stay with me for the rest of my life. Thank you so much :-)."

Tendulkar, who made his ODI debut in Gujranwala against Pakistan in 1989, played his last match, 463rd against the same opponent in Dhaka on March 18, 2012.
