Kolkata, Jan 2: Having remained unbeaten against the hosts at Eden Gardens, Pakistan look forward to extend their dominance at Eden.

Since their first ODI at Eden Gardens, Kolkata Pakistan have ensured that they haven't lost a match to the hosts at Kolkata.

Eden Gardens, a happy venue for Pakistan

Having played 5 matches at the venue since 1987, Pakistan have played 3 matches against India and have won all of them, including a win against West Indies in 1989.

Pakistan have lost only one match at Eden Gardens to Sri Lanka in the year 1997, while they have been highly successful at the venue otherwise, prompting them to extend the lead to 2-0 in the current ODI series against India.

1987, Feb 18

Despite Krishnamachari Srikkanth's 123 and Azharuddin's 49, India lost the match against Pakistan by 2 wickets. It was indeed the first ODI played at the venue as well. Saleem Malik (72), Rameez Raja (58), Younis Ahmed (58) ensured that they reached the target with three balls to spare.

1989, Oct 28

The second time the two teams met at the same ground, things weren't different as Pakistan registered yet another win against India by 77 runs during the MRF World Series (Nehru Cup) in 1989. Rameez Raja (77), Imran Khan (47*), Aamer Malik (51) ensured that the team posted 279/7 in 50 overs. In reply India were bundled out for 202 within 42.3 overs.

2004, Nov 13

The last time India played Pakistan at home was in 2004. Pakistan clinched another victory against the hosts as Eden became the most successful venue for the visitors. Despite making 292/6 in 50 overs India failed to restrict the arch rivals as Salman Butt (108*), Inzamam ul Haq (75) and Shoaib Malik (61) helped Pakistan reach the target within 49 overs.

Now, with the two teams all set to play yet another ODI at the venue, Pakistan would look to extend their dominance while India would look forward to break Pakistan's winning streak at Eden.
