Cape Town, Jan 3: South Africa batsman Jacques Kallis, on Wednesday (January 2), became the fourth batsman in Test history to complete 13,000 runs. He achieved the milestone against New Zealand on the opening day of their first Test.
Kallis crossed the 13,000-run mark when he hit a four off Doug Bracewell during his knock of 60. Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and Rahul Dravid are the other three members of 13,000-run club.
Tendulkar leads the pack with 15,645 runs. Ponting is second with 13,378 followed by Dravid with 13,288.
Kallis is the first South African to score 13,000 Test runs. He is playing in his 159th Test. He has 44 Test hundreds and 57 half centuries since making debut in 1995.
