New Delhi, Jan 4: Former Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad has cancelled his visit to India and will not be in Delhi to watch the India-Pakistan third and final One Day International on January 6, Sunday, TV reports claimed on Friday afternoon.
English News Channel "Times Now" reported that Miandad had cancelled his India visit.
There was controversy over granting of visa by Indian government to Miandad, who is a relative of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. Miandad's son Junaid is married to Mahrukh, the daughter of Dawood Ibrahim, who is wanted in India in connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.
On Thursday, India government had defended its decision to grant visa to Miandad to attend the match. However, there was criticism from various quarters about him coming to India. Leaders from the BJP and the Shiv Sena had criticised government's decision to give him visa.
