Mumbai, Jan 4: Sachin Tendulkar has been included in Mumbai squad for their Ranji Trophy quarter-final against Baroda to be played at Wankhede Stadium from January 6, Sunday. However, Mumbai will miss the services of Zaheer Khan, who is injured.
Tendulkar will be playing for Mumbai in Ranji Trophy for the second time this season. It is after a long time that we will see Tendulkar in Mumbai whites two times in the same season. In the season opener, Tendulkar hit a century against Railways.
Over the years, busy international schedule had kept Tendulkar away from first-class cricket action in India. Now that he has retired from One Day Internationals and has a more than two months gap before India's next Test series against Australia, Tendulkar will be in Ranji Trophy.
Zaheer, dropped from Test team, sustained a calf injury during Mumbai's last league game against Madhya Pradesh last week and is now at National Cricket Academy for rehabilitation.
Mumbai will be led by Ajit Agarkar. Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane, who are on national duty for Pakistan ODIs, are not included.
Mumbai squad: Ajit Agarkar (captain), Sachin Tendulkar, Wasim Jaffer, Suryakumar Yadav, Dhaval Kulkarni, Kaustubh Pawar, Abhishek Nayar, Hiken Shah, Aditya Tare, Ankit Chavan, Nikhil Patil (Jr.), Javed Khan, Shoaib Shaikh, Shardul Thakur and Vishal Dabholkar. Coach: Sulakshan Kulkarni.
